1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Healy collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal information when you use the Healy mobile application and related services.
Healy is a mobile application designed to support adults through breakup recovery, emotional reflection, personal growth, daily healing tasks, AI-supported guidance, motivational content, faith-based or general encouragement, and, where available, a healed-only dating feature.
Healy is operated by Healy, based in the United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Healy is the data controller for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy.
By using Healy, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not use Healy.
2. Age restriction
Healy is intended only for users aged 18 or over.
You must not use Healy if you are under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a person under 18 has provided personal information to Healy, we may delete the account and associated information.
3. Healy is not a medical, therapy, crisis, or emergency service
Healy is not a medical service, therapy service, counselling service, crisis service, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice.
Healy does not provide medical diagnosis, clinical treatment, professional therapy, psychiatric care, legal advice, or emergency intervention.
If you feel at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or you are in immediate danger, you should contact emergency services or a crisis support provider in your country immediately.
In the UK, you can contact emergency services by calling 999 or access urgent NHS mental health support through NHS 111.
4. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of Healy, information collected automatically from your device, and information received from third-party services.
4.1 Account information
We may collect:
- name
- email address
- account login details
- user ID
- authentication information
- profile information
- account settings
- support messages and correspondence
4.2 Onboarding and healing information
During onboarding and while using Healy, we may collect information such as:
- breakup details
- relationship history
- information about an ex-partner or previous relationship
- emotional state
- healing goals
- selected struggles or pain points
- daily healing preferences
- plan type, such as 30-day or 60-day healing plan
- responses to onboarding questions
- answers to daily tasks
- healing progress
- task completions
- streaks and activity history
- journal entries
- reflections
- mood check-ins
- motivation preferences
- religious or faith preference, if you choose to provide it
Some of this information may be sensitive. You should only provide information that you are comfortable sharing with Healy.
4.3 Faith and religious preference
If you choose to receive religious or faith-based prompts, we may collect your selected religion, faith preference, or related settings.
Religious belief or faith-related information may be treated as special category data under UK data protection law. We process this information only where permitted by law, including where you have given explicit consent.
You can change or withdraw faith-based notification preferences in the app where those controls are available.
4.4 AI interaction data
Healy uses artificial intelligence features to provide personalised support, guidance, reflections, motivational content, daily task generation, and other app experiences.

- onboarding answers sent to AI systems
- breakup details sent to AI systems
- daily task answers
- journal or reflection content where used for AI personalisation
- prompts and messages you send to AI features
- AI-generated responses
- safety signals and abuse-prevention information

Healy may review AI interactions for safety, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, and service improvement.
AI features may be provided using third-party AI providers, including Anthropic/Claude and OpenAI. When you use AI features, relevant information may be sent to those providers so they can process and return AI-generated responses.
You should not enter information into Healy that you do not want processed by Healy or its AI providers.
4.5 Dating feature information
Where the Healy dating feature is available, we may collect and process additional information, including:
- dating profile details
- profile photos
- bio
- age
- gender
- city
- dating preferences
- visibility settings
- matches
- likes, passes, or interactions
- messages between users
- block and report activity
- report reasons
- moderation history
- safety information
- user-generated content submitted through the dating feature
Other users may be able to view the information you choose to include in your dating profile.
Healy's dating feature is city-based. Other users may see your city or general area, such as "London". We do not intend to show your exact address or precise real-time location to other users.
4.6 Location information
Healy may collect location information, including exact location, where you give permission through your device settings or through the app.
We may use location information to:
- support city-based dating availability
- determine your city or general area
- help show relevant users in the dating feature
- support safety, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention
- personalise parts of the app experience
- analyse app usage and growth by area
- support marketing, analytics, and service improvement
We may store your city. We do not intend to publicly display your exact location to other users.
You can control location permissions through your device settings.
4.7 Photos and user content
If you upload photos, profile images, or other content, we may collect and store that content.
This may include:
- dating profile photos
- account profile images
- images used for app features
- content submitted in messages, reports, journals, or support requests
You are responsible for the content you upload. You should not upload content you do not have the right to share.
4.8 Notifications information
We may collect and process information related to push notifications, including:
- notification preferences
- faith-based notification preferences
- motivation preferences
- selected notification windows
- device push tokens
- Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens
- Apple Push Notification Service tokens
- notification delivery status
- whether notifications are enabled
- incomplete daily task status
- timezone and scheduling information
Push notifications may be personalised based on information such as breakup type, religious preference, selected notification windows, healing plan, task completion status, and app activity.
We do not currently intend to personalise push notifications based directly on mood journal content.
You can manage push notifications through your device settings and in-app settings where available.
4.9 Payment and subscription information
Payments are processed through the Apple App Store and related payment systems. Healy does not receive or store your full card details.
We may receive and process subscription-related information from Apple and RevenueCat, including:
- subscription status
- product purchased
- plan type
- renewal status
- trial status
- cancellation status
- purchase history metadata
- transaction identifiers
- entitlement status
This information is used to manage access to paid features.
4.10 Device, analytics, and technical information

- understanding user engagement
- developing new features
We only rely on legitimate interests where we believe those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

We may process information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, regulatory requirements, law enforcement requests, court orders, tax obligations, accounting rules, or other lawful requirements.
6.5 Special category data
Some information you provide may reveal sensitive matters, including religious beliefs, emotional wellbeing, relationship trauma, abuse-related disclosures, or other sensitive personal information.
Where required, we rely on a lawful basis under Article 6 UK GDPR and a separate condition under Article 9 UK GDPR, such as explicit consent, to process special category data.
7. AI providers and automated processing
Healy uses AI to provide personalised support, reflections, daily task generation, motivational content, and other app experiences.
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, or not suitable for your personal circumstances. You should not rely on AI responses as medical, legal, financial, therapeutic, or emergency advice.
Your inputs may be processed by Healy and third-party AI providers, including Anthropic/Claude and OpenAI.
We may use AI-related data to:
- generate personalised responses
- personalise healing plans
- generate or improve daily tasks
- provide motivational content
- improve safety systems
- detect misuse
- debug technical issues
- improve app quality
Healy may review AI interactions for safety, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, and service improvement.

- Firebase for push notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and app infrastructure

- Anthropic/Claude for AI processing
- OpenAI for AI processing

8.2 Other Healy users
If you use the dating feature, other users may see information you choose to make visible, such as:

- bio
- dating preferences you choose to show
- dating interactions
- messages you send
You should not include information in your dating profile or messages that you do not want other users to see.
8.3 Legal, safety, and enforcement
We may share information where we believe it is necessary to:

- protect Healy, users, or others
- investigate fraud, abuse, harassment, threats, or harmful activity
- enforce our Terms of Service

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data from our active systems, except where we need to keep limited information for legal, safety, fraud prevention, payment, dispute, or backup purposes.
Some information may also remain with third-party providers where they are required to retain it, such as Apple payment records, RevenueCat subscription records, legal logs, fraud-prevention records, or anonymised analytics.
Backups may retain information for a limited period before being overwritten or deleted.
12. Account deletion
You may delete your account through the app where the delete-account feature is available, or by contacting us at support@healyapp.io.
After account deletion:
- your account will be removed or disabled
- your personal data will be deleted or anonymised from active systems
- your dating profile will no longer be visible
- your healing progress may be deleted
- your journal entries and stored reflections may be deleted
- your notification tokens may be removed
- your subscription access may stop depending on Apple's subscription rules
- some limited information may be retained where required for legal, safety, fraud, payment, dispute, or backup purposes
Deleting your Healy account does not automatically cancel an active Apple App Store subscription. You may need to cancel your subscription through your Apple account settings.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:
- access your personal information
- correct inaccurate information
- delete your information
- restrict processing
- object to processing
- withdraw consent
- request data portability
- complain to a data protection authority
- opt out of certain marketing
- opt out of certain tracking or targeted advertising where applicable

- certain AI personalisation
- advertising tracking, where applicable

Withdrawing consent may limit or disable certain features.
For example:
- disabling location may limit dating functionality
- disabling push notifications may stop reminders
- withdrawing faith preference consent may stop religious prompts
- withdrawing tracking consent may limit personalised advertising or attribution
Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that happened before consent was withdrawn.
15. Marketing communications
We may send you marketing communications, including emails, push notifications, offers, product updates, promotions, and feature announcements.
You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link, changing your app settings, turning off push notifications, or contacting us at support@healyapp.io.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send important service messages, such as account, security, payment, subscription, safety, or legal notices.
16. Push notifications
Healy may send push notifications, including:
- healing reminders
- daily task reminders
- incomplete task reminders
- motivational prompts
- faith-based prompts where enabled
- product updates
- safety notices
- account notices
- marketing messages where permitted
Notifications may be personalised based on your app activity, healing plan, breakup type, faith preference, task status, and notification settings.
You can disable push notifications through your device settings.
17. Dating safety, visibility, blocking, and reporting
If you use the Healy dating feature, you understand that some of your profile information may be visible to other users.
You should not share sensitive information with other users unless you are comfortable doing so.
Healy may provide tools to block or report users. We may review reports, messages, profiles, photos, and related information to investigate safety concerns, enforce rules, prevent abuse, or comply with legal obligations.
We may suspend or remove accounts that violate our rules, harm other users, misuse the app, or create safety risks.
18. User-generated content
You may submit content to Healy, including journal entries, task responses, profile content, photos, messages, reports, and support communications.
You are responsible for the content you submit.
You should not submit:
- illegal content
- harmful content
- abusive content
- threatening content
- sexually exploitative content
- content involving minors
- content that violates another person's privacy
- content you do not have permission to share
We may remove, restrict, review, or report content where necessary for safety, legal compliance, moderation, or enforcement.
19. Third-party services and links
Healy may include links, integrations, SDKs, or services provided by third parties.
Third-party services may collect and process information under their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
You should review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
20. App Store and platform providers
If you download Healy through the Apple App Store, Apple may process your information under Apple's own privacy terms.
Payments, subscriptions, refunds, purchase history, device-level permissions, and platform-level account data may be handled by Apple.
Healy does not control Apple's processing of your information.
21. Cookies and similar technologies
Healy is currently a mobile-only app, but we and our partners may use similar technologies such as SDKs, pixels, local storage, device identifiers, analytics tools, and attribution tools.
These technologies may be used to:
