Terms of Service for Healy

1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Healy mobile application and related services.
Healy is a mobile application designed to support adults through breakup recovery, emotional reflection, personal growth, daily healing tasks, AI-supported guidance, motivational content, faith-based or general encouragement, and, where available, a healed-only dating feature.
Healy is operated by Healy, based in the United Kingdom.
By creating an account, accessing, or using Healy, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Healy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Healy.
By using Healy, you confirm that:
- you are 18 or older;
- you have the legal right to enter into these Terms;
- the information you provide is accurate and truthful;
- you will use Healy only for lawful purposes;
- you will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.
Healy is not intended for anyone under 18.
If we believe that you are under 18, we may suspend, restrict, or delete your account.
3. Healy is not a medical, therapy, crisis, or emergency service
Healy is not a medical service, therapy service, counselling service, crisis service, emergency service, or substitute for professional advice.
Healy does not provide:
- medical diagnosis;
- clinical treatment;
- professional therapy;
- psychiatric care;
- crisis intervention;
- emergency support;
- legal advice;
- financial advice.
The content, AI responses, daily tasks, motivational messages, faith-based prompts, and other materials in Healy are provided for general wellbeing, reflection, personal development, and informational purposes only.
You should not rely on Healy as a replacement for professional help.
If you are in immediate danger, feel at risk of harming yourself or someone else, or need urgent support, contact emergency services or a crisis support provider in your country immediately.
In the UK, call 999 in an emergency or contact NHS 111 for urgent health support.
4. Account registration
To use Healy, you may need to create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate information;
- keep your login details secure;
- not share your account with anyone else;
- not create an account for another person without permission;
- update your information if it changes;
- notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
We may suspend, restrict, or delete your account if we believe your account has been misused, compromised, created with false information, or used in breach of these Terms.
5. Your relationship with Healy
Healy provides digital tools, content, AI features, and app-based experiences.
Healy does not guarantee that:
- you will recover from a breakup within a certain period;
- you will feel better after using the app;
- your emotional wellbeing will improve;
- any AI-generated response will be accurate or suitable;
- you will find a match through the dating feature;
- city-based dating will be available in your area;
- any other user will behave appropriately;
- paid features will always remain exactly the same.
You are responsible for how you use Healy and for any decisions you make based on content, AI responses, notifications, dating interactions, or other features in the app.
6. Healing plans and daily tasks
Healy may offer structured healing plans, including daily tasks, reflections, motivational content, journaling prompts, emotional exercises, and progress tracking.
These features are designed to support reflection and personal growth. They are not medical treatment or therapy.
Daily tasks, plans, recommendations, and personalised content may be generated or adapted using your onboarding answers, app activity, selected preferences, and AI systems.
We may change, update, remove, pause, or replace healing plans, tasks, features, and content at any time.
7. AI features
Healy uses artificial intelligence features to provide personalised support, reflections, daily task generation, motivational content, and other app experiences.
AI responses may be generated using third-party AI providers, including Anthropic/Claude and OpenAI.
You understand and agree that AI-generated content:
- may be inaccurate;
- may be incomplete;
- may be inappropriate for your specific situation;
- may not reflect professional advice;
- may not always understand context correctly;
- may produce unexpected or unsuitable responses;
- should not be treated as medical, legal, therapeutic, financial, or emergency advice.
You are responsible for evaluating any AI-generated content before relying on it.
You should not submit information to AI features that you are not comfortable being processed by Healy or its AI providers.
We may review AI interactions for safety, abuse prevention, debugging, legal compliance, and service improvement.
We may limit, suspend, or remove AI features at any time.
8. User content
You may be able to submit, upload, send, create, or share content through Healy.
This may include:
- onboarding answers;
- breakup details;
- reflections;
- journal entries;
- daily task answers;
- profile information;
- photos;
- dating bios;
- messages;
- reports;
- support requests;
- feedback;
- other user-generated content.
You remain responsible for your content.
By submitting content to Healy, you confirm that:
- you have the right to submit it;
- it is accurate where accuracy matters;
- it does not violate any law;
- it does not violate anyone else's rights;
- it does not contain unlawful, harmful, abusive, threatening, or exploitative material;
- it does not contain content involving minors in a sexual, exploitative, or inappropriate context;
- it does not contain someone else's private information without permission;
- it does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
9. Licence you give to Healy
You retain ownership of the content you submit to Healy.
However, by submitting content, you grant Healy a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, host, store, process, reproduce, modify, adapt, display, transmit, analyse, and create technical copies of your content as necessary to:
- provide the app;
- personalise your experience;
- generate AI responses;
- provide daily tasks;
- operate dating features;
- deliver notifications;
- provide support;
- moderate content;
- investigate safety issues;
- prevent fraud or abuse;
- improve Healy;
- comply with legal obligations;
- enforce these Terms.
This licence ends when your content is deleted from our active systems, except where continued use is necessary for legal, safety, fraud prevention, payment, dispute, backup, or compliance purposes.
10. Prohibited use
You must not use Healy to:
- violate any law or regulation;
- harass, abuse, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person;
- impersonate another person;
- create a fake identity;
- upload false, misleading, or deceptive information;
- exploit, harm, or attempt to harm minors;
- send sexual, exploitative, or inappropriate content involving minors;
- send spam or unsolicited advertising;
- use Healy for commercial solicitation without permission;
- scrape, copy, or harvest user data;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code;
- interfere with Healy's systems or security;
- upload malware, viruses, or harmful code;
- bypass payment systems;
- bypass security, moderation, or access controls;
- manipulate matches, rankings, recommendations, or app systems;
- use bots, automation, scripts, fake accounts, or unauthorised tools;
- use Healy to stalk, track, or monitor another person;
- share another person's private information without consent;
- encourage self-harm, violence, hate, abuse, or illegal activity;
- misuse AI features to generate harmful, illegal, abusive, or deceptive content;
- use Healy in any way that may damage Healy, users, or third parties.
We may suspend, restrict, or delete your account if we believe you have breached these rules.
11. Dating feature
Healy may offer a dating feature for eligible users.
The dating feature may include:
- dating profiles;
- profile photos;
- bios;
- city-based visibility;
- likes;
- matches;
- messages;
- blocking;
- reporting;
- moderation;
- safety tools.
Dating availability may depend on your location, city, subscription status, completed healing plan, app rules, or other eligibility requirements.
Healy may launch dating city-by-city. Dating may not be available in every city or country.
Healy does not guarantee that:
- dating will be available in your area;
- you will receive matches;
- you will meet compatible people;
- users will be truthful;
- users will behave appropriately;
- any interaction will be safe, successful, or suitable;
- a user's profile information is accurate;
- another user is emotionally available, single, or suitable for you.
You are responsible for your interactions with other users.
12. Dating safety
You agree to use caution when interacting with other users.
You should not:
- share financial information;
- send money to other users;
- share your home address too early;
- share sensitive personal information unless you are comfortable doing so;
- meet someone in private or unsafe locations;
- ignore concerning behaviour;
- continue contact with someone who makes you uncomfortable.
If you meet another user in person, you are responsible for taking appropriate safety precautions.
Healy is not responsible for the conduct of users online or offline.
We may investigate reports, review relevant content, restrict accounts, remove profiles, block access, or report serious issues to appropriate authorities where legally required or where we believe it is necessary for safety.
13. Blocking and reporting
Healy may allow users to block or report other users.
If you report another user, we may review:
- the reported profile;
- messages;
- photos;
- bio;
- account activity;
- report reasons;
- safety history;
- other relevant information.
We may take action at our discretion, including warning, restricting, suspending, or deleting accounts.
We are not required to explain moderation decisions in detail.
False, malicious, or abusive reports may result in action against the reporting account.
14. City-based dating and location
Healy's dating feature is city-based.
Other users may see your city or general area, such as "London".
Healy does not intend to publicly display your exact address or precise real-time location to other users.
We may collect and use location information to:
- determine city-based availability;
- show relevant users;
- support dating functionality;
- prevent fraud and abuse;
- improve safety;
- analyse growth by area;
- support app functionality.
You can manage location permissions through your device settings. If you disable location access, some features may not work properly.
15. Subscriptions and paid features
Healy may offer paid subscriptions, one-time purchases, premium features, or other paid access.
Payments are processed through the Apple App Store or other platform providers where applicable.
Healy does not collect or store your full card details.
Paid features may include, for example:
- access to healing plans;
- premium daily tasks;
- AI features;
- extended content;
- dating access;
- advanced app features;
- subscription-only functionality.
The exact features included in each paid plan may change over time.
16. Apple App Store payments
If you purchase a subscription or paid feature through Apple:
- payment is charged by Apple;
- Apple's terms and payment rules apply;
- renewals are managed by Apple;
- refunds are handled by Apple unless otherwise stated;
- cancellation must usually be done through your Apple account settings;
- deleting your Healy account does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription.
You are responsible for managing your subscription through your Apple account.
If you cancel a subscription, you may continue to have access until the end of the current billing period, depending on Apple's rules. Apple states that auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled by the user.
17. Free trials, renewals, and cancellations
Healy may offer free trials, promotional pricing, introductory offers, or subscription plans.
Unless cancelled before the end of a trial or billing period, subscriptions may automatically renew.
You are responsible for cancelling before renewal if you do not want to be charged.
We may change prices, plans, trials, and features from time to time. Where required, price changes will be handled through the relevant app store or payment platform.
UK subscription rules are changing, including rules around subscription cancellation, cooling-off rights, and clearer renewal terms. Healy should keep subscription flows updated to comply with applicable UK consumer rules as they come into force.
18. Refunds
Refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store are generally handled by Apple.
Healy does not control Apple's refund decisions.
Where required by law, you may have consumer rights that cannot be excluded by these Terms.
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, contact Apple or contact us at support@healyapp.io and we may assist where possible.
19. Account deletion and subscription cancellation
You may delete your Healy account through the app where this feature is available, or by contacting support@healyapp.io.
Deleting your account may remove your profile, healing progress, dating profile, messages, content, and app data from active systems, subject to limited legal, safety, fraud prevention, payment, dispute, backup, or compliance exceptions.
Deleting your Healy account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription.
You must cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings or the relevant platform subscription controls.
20. Marketing and communications
Healy may send you:
- service messages;
- account notices;
- security alerts;
- subscription notices;
- support messages;
- product updates;
- promotional messages;
- marketing emails;
- push notifications;
- app announcements.
You can opt out of marketing communications where required by law.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you important service, account, safety, payment, or legal messages.
21. Push notifications
Healy may send push notifications, including:
- healing reminders;
- daily task reminders;
- incomplete task reminders;
- motivational prompts;
- faith-based prompts where enabled;
- product updates;
- account notices;
- marketing messages where permitted.
Notifications may be personalised based on your app activity, healing plan, breakup type, faith preference, task status, and notification settings.
You can disable push notifications through your device settings.
If you disable notifications, some features may not work as intended.
22. Faith-based content
Healy may allow you to receive religious, faith-based, or spiritual prompts if you choose to enable them.
Faith-based content is intended for encouragement and reflection only.
It is not religious instruction, professional counselling, therapy, or crisis support.
You are responsible for deciding whether faith-based content is appropriate for you.
You may be able to change or disable faith-based preferences in the app.
23. App availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend, limit, or discontinue Healy or any part of it at any time.
We do not guarantee that Healy will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Access may be interrupted due to:
- maintenance;
- updates;
- technical issues;
- third-party outages;
- security concerns;
- legal requirements;
- app store issues;
- payment platform issues;
- AI provider outages;
- cloud service failures.
We are not liable for interruptions, downtime, delays, lost data, or unavailable features except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
24. Beta features and experiments
Healy may release beta features, experiments, early-access tools, or test versions of features.
These may include AI features, dating features, content formats, paywalls, notifications, or recommendation systems.
Beta or experimental features may be unstable, incomplete, inaccurate, or removed at any time.
We may test different versions of features, pricing, onboarding, content, or app experiences with different users.
25. Third-party services
Healy may rely on third-party services, including:
- Supabase;
- Firebase;
- RevenueCat;
- Apple;
- Anthropic/Claude;
- OpenAI;
- analytics providers;
- crash reporting providers;
- marketing attribution providers;
- advertising platforms;
- cloud hosting providers;
- email providers;
- customer support providers.
Third-party services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, errors, actions, or policies.
26. App stores and device platforms
Your use of Healy may also be governed by the rules of the app store or device platform through which you access the app, including Apple.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and the app store's rules, the app store's rules may apply where required.
Apple and other platform providers are not responsible for Healy, except as required by their own terms or applicable law.
27. Intellectual property
Healy and its content, design, branding, software, code, features, graphics, logos, text, audio, prompts, task structures, AI workflows, and other materials are owned by Healy or its licensors.
You must not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of Healy unless we give you written permission.
Using Healy does not give you ownership of Healy, its software, branding, content, or intellectual property.
28. Limited licence to use Healy
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Healy grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
- resell access to Healy;
- use Healy for commercial purposes without permission;
- copy or modify the app;
- attempt to access source code;
- build competing products using Healy's content or systems;
- misuse Healy's APIs, data, or infrastructure.
We may revoke this licence if you breach these Terms.
29. Feedback
If you send us feedback, ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, or other comments, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation.
You grant Healy a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use your feedback to improve, develop, market, or operate Healy.
30. Moderation and enforcement
We may monitor, review, restrict, remove, or moderate content and accounts where we believe it is necessary.
This may include situations involving:
- safety concerns;
- harassment;
- abuse;
- fraud;
- illegal content;
- dating misuse;
- impersonation;
- spam;
- harmful AI use;
- user reports;
- suspected underage use;
- violations of these Terms.
We may take action without prior notice.
Actions may include:
- content removal;
- warning;
- feature restriction;
- account suspension;
- account deletion;
- blocking access;
- reporting to authorities where required or appropriate;
- retaining limited records for safety, fraud, legal, or dispute purposes.
User-to-user services in the UK may be subject to online safety duties, including duties around illegal content, user reporting, and safety controls. Healy should keep moderation, reporting, and safety systems updated as the regulatory position develops.
31. No guarantee of user conduct
Healy does not control everything users say or do.
We do not guarantee that users:
- are truthful;
- are safe;
- are single;
- are emotionally available;
- are who they claim to be;
- will behave appropriately;
- will follow these Terms.
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Healy is not liable for the conduct of users online or offline.
32. No warranty
Healy is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not make warranties or guarantees that:
- Healy will meet your expectations;
- Healy will be uninterrupted;
- Healy will be error-free;
- Healy will be secure;
- Healy will always be available;
- AI responses will be accurate;
- healing plans will produce a particular result;
- dating features will produce matches;
- content will be suitable for your circumstances;
- bugs or defects will be corrected immediately;
- third-party services will remain available.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
33. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Healy will not be liable for:
- emotional distress caused by use of the app;
- reliance on AI-generated content;
- user interactions;
- dating outcomes;
- offline meetings;
- inaccurate user profiles;
- loss of data;
- loss of access;
- subscription platform issues;
- third-party service failures;
- bugs, errors, or downtime;
- unauthorised access caused by your failure to protect your account;
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
- loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity.
Where liability cannot be excluded, Healy's liability will be limited to the amount you paid to Healy for the relevant service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless a different limit is required by law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
34. Your responsibility to indemnify Healy
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Healy from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:
- your breach of these Terms;
- your misuse of Healy;
- your content;
- your interactions with other users;
- your violation of another person's rights;
- your violation of law;
- your misuse of AI features;
- your misuse of dating features;
- your fraud, abuse, or harmful conduct.
This means you may be responsible for losses caused by your actions.
35. Privacy
Your use of Healy is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information.
By using Healy, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
36. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account at any time if:
- you breach these Terms;
- you create safety risks;
- you misuse the app;
- you provide false information;
- you are under 18;
- you harass or harm another user;
- you misuse AI features;
- you misuse dating features;
- you violate law;
- your account is involved in fraud, spam, abuse, or suspicious activity;
- we are required to do so by law;
- continued access could harm Healy, users, or third parties.
You may stop using Healy at any time.
Certain provisions of these Terms will continue after your account ends, including provisions about intellectual property, user content, limitation of liability, indemnity, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
37. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, by email, or by other reasonable means.
The updated Terms will be effective from the date shown at the top of the Terms.
Your continued use of Healy after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using Healy.
38. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you live in another country, you may also have mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country that cannot be excluded.
39. Disputes
If you have a complaint or dispute, contact us first at support@healyapp.io so we can try to resolve it.
Where permitted by law, disputes relating to these Terms or Healy will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where required by applicable consumer law.
40. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the rest of the Terms will remain in effect.
The invalid or unenforceable part will be interpreted or replaced in a way that best reflects the original purpose, where legally permitted.
41. No waiver
If we do not enforce a part of these Terms immediately, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.
Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.
42. Assignment
You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written permission.
We may transfer our rights or obligations under these Terms as part of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, business transfer, legal requirement, or operational change.
43. Entire agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms shown in the app, form the entire agreement between you and Healy regarding your use of Healy.
They replace any previous agreements, understandings, or statements about Healy.
